Lokvikas
is a public Charitable Trust and
its main objectives are the developing
and
promoting of sustainable
Educational, Economical, Health, Social and
Cultural values in civil
society and in the state as
a whole.
It was chosen to be one of the
members of the State Level Panel on Swa
Shakti
programme under the supervision of the World
Bank. It was also granted
recognition from the US
Embassy to represent India at the International Forum for Water and
Community Participation in Pakistan and
has participated in several other international summits
such as the fifth Global
Forum of WSSCC in
Brazil and the Second Asian Regional Conference on social security in
Hong Kong.
Lokvikas
is an apolitical,
secular, non-governmental, voluntary organisation registered
on 18th
December 1985, under
the Societies
Registration Act of 1860 and the
Bombay
Public Charitable Trust Act of 1950 (F/1093/
Ahmedabad).
This
not-for-profit organisation
works exclusively for the
upliftment of
underprivileged rural and urban communities in Gujarat.
