  • Improve the socioeconomic conditions of small and marginalized sections of society, especially tribal populations and women, through integrated rural development and innovative approaches.
  • Establish village-based institutions such as societies, savings and thrift credit groups, and self-help groups (SHGs) to promote participatory development in agriculture, health, and other essential areas.
  • Build the capacity of government bodies and NGOs in implementing rural development initiatives, focusing on natural resource management (NRM) and SHG programs.
  • Promote organic farming practices and facilitate market access for organic agricultural products.

Health and Well-being

  • Prevent the spread of HIV and reduce its associated illnesses and mortality through awareness, prevention, and health interventions.
  • Enhance health-related quality of life and overall well-being for all individuals by fostering healthy social and physical environments.
  • Improve pregnancy planning and spacing while preventing unintended pregnancies.
  • Promote respiratory health by enhancing prevention, detection, treatment, and education efforts.
  • Reduce illness, disability, and mortality associated with tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke.
  • Increase access to care and improve health outcomes for individuals living with HIV, addressing HIV-related health disparities.

Livelihood and Community Empowerment

  • Promote sustainable livelihoods and self-sufficient income-generation models at the grassroots level through active community participation, innovative skill training, and entrepreneurial support.
  • Develop and implement poverty-focused, participatory approaches in watershed and water resource development programs that are sustainable and replicable across regions.
  • Set up knowledge centers for rural populations, focusing on watershed development and other natural resource management (NRM)-based livelihoods.
  • Build the community’s capacity for self-reliance, enabling them to collaboratively identify challenges and develop solutions through teamwork.

Areas of Internvention

  • Lok Vikas Shikshan Sansthan (LVSS) is actively working in several districts of Rajasthan, including Alwar, Bharatpur, Jhunjhunu, Bikaner, Ganganagar, Barmer, Sikar, Dausa, Baran, Kota, and Jaipur.
  • These regions are among the most underdeveloped areas in Rajasthan, particularly in terms of female literacy. Agriculture and animal husbandry serve as the primary sources of livelihood for the population, as the region remains predominantly rural, with little to no urbanization or industrial development.
  • The demographic composition includes a significant proportion of Scheduled Castes, Tribals, and minorities, particularly the Meo Muslim community, who are among the most marginalized in the caste and social hierarchy. The high prevalence of disadvantaged communities, combined with poor development indicators such as low literacy rates and an unfavorable sex ratio, highlights the area’s challenges and underscores its need for focused developmental interventions.
